Rayón and Péronne

Two Communities United for a Shared Future

On May 31st, a milestone was achieved: Rayón (Mexico) and Péronne (France) officially signed a sister city agreement a partnership grounded in shared values and forward-looking cooperation.

What began as a student conversation in Lyon — with my French roommate — has now become a formal international alliance, built on strategy, collective vision, and cultural respect.

Together with Mayor Edna Talavera Mercado and Mayor Gautier Maes, we laid the foundation for a long-term partnership that includes:

Student exchange programs between local schools

Cultural and tourism and collaboration in sustainable agriculture and governance

Future projects for artisanal exports, fair trade, and digital inclusion

This initiative builds on my professional experience designing economic alliances — including strategies with Castrol and the honor of collaborating with Maryse Fagot, a leading voice in Franco-Mexican cooperation and cultural diplomacy.

This agreement proves that city diplomacy and civic initiative can unlock international impact, even from small towns. Rayón and Péronne are now walking a shared path — building bridges that connect not just places, but people.
